I know! Alright, fuckin' ... I know! I skipped the entire weekend, I'm destined for failure, etc, etc. You know what I say to that? You don't know me man! You only think you do. If you haven't guessed, I skipped my training this weekend. I have reasonable, but not good excuses. On Saturday I did all manner of physical labour and by the time the opportunity to run came around I was too tired for running...but not for drinking. As a result of our friend alcohol, I was up to late and developed a hangover. By the time I was ready to face the day I had to go and pull an 8.5 hour stint at the office. Fuckin' perps. Anyways, consider this a pothole on the road to success, rather than a drop into the pit of eventual failure.
Today I got back on the wagon and did my old favorite, intervals. Today was better than some days, I set a good pace and ran hard. Don't get me wrong, I definitely almost puked in the midst of my second sprint, but I pulled it back together for old number 3 and put up a respectable effort overall. I topped it off with a bit of the old trampolining with my cousins, always good for the knees.
The Coach and I finally had our state of the union today. It went reasonably well. He wants me to push my HR up to 170 for my 45 minute runs. That's pretty intense but I'll do what I can to make Coach happy.
