I really doubt that I'll be making multiple posts most days, but today is a landmark day and deserves noting. I went for my first run, a grand total of 20 minutes of running. For competitive reasons, as well as pride, I'm going to keep the distance secret. Suffice it to say that I have much room for improvement. I will say that it felt good to go out and run, I know I have a long road ahead of me, but I have inspiration and the fear of derision pushing me along.

In the pledge department, my last post has inspired a few more unusual pledges. An high school friend, Matt has pledged "a roll of toilet paper. Jumbo sized, 425 sheets to the roll, individually wrapped." I have no idea where he's going to track it down, maybe he's a janitor in his spare time. Or maybe he just robs janitors. He's also going to pay to ship it from Ontario. My cousin Ryan, a man who clearly respects the value of training and the power of incentive, has pledged a case of beer. I assume it is limited to domestic, but still, good show old boy. Just now my friend Jeff pledged a warm can of beer. More specifically, "a can of Lucky that's been in the bottom of my hockey bag for a year." Frankly, I expected more from a guy who has a summer job in Toronto, cheap bastard.

Finally, behind Enemy lines, The Enemy claims that I am taking this too seriously. At the same time, in her blog she claims that she plans to beat me by ten minutes and goes on to question my squash abilities. Clearly, the value of modesty was not highlighted at The Enemy's finishing school.
